Frequently Asked Questions

Travel Planning

What does a travel advisor do that I can't do myself?

A travel advisor handles research, booking, and trip logistics — comparing resorts, tracking pricing windows, securing supplier perks unavailable online, and acting as your advocate if anything goes wrong before or during travel. At Cynthia Stays Curated, there is no fee for travel planning. Cynthia earns compensation directly from travel suppliers, not from clients.

Is the travel planning service free?

No. There is no fee for travel planning. Cynthia earns compensation from travel suppliers (resorts, cruise lines, and tour operators), not from clients. The first travel proposal plus up to two revisions are included at no charge.

How long does it take to receive a travel proposal?

Travel proposals are delivered within one to three business days of receiving a completed quote request.

Is using a travel advisor for Disney World worth it?

Yes. A Disney-specialist travel advisor tracks crowd calendars, resort pricing changes, dining reservation windows, and package promotions that shift frequently. Cynthia offers free Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line trip planning — clients receive a custom proposal within one to three business days at no charge.

Can a travel advisor book Sandals resorts?

Yes. Cynthia specializes in Sandals all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. She can access room category upgrades, honeymoon and anniversary amenities, and exclusive perks not available when booking direct through the Sandals website.

What cruise lines does Cynthia book?

Cynthia books Royal Caribbean, Virgin Voyages, and MSC Cruises. She compares cabin categories, itineraries, dining packages, and shore excursions, and coordinates pre- and post-cruise hotel and transportation logistics.

What destinations do you plan trips for?

Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal Orlando, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe, Royal Caribbean cruises, Virgin Voyages, MSC Cruises, Sandals resorts, Florida Keys, Hawaii, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon, Big Bend National Park, Nashville, Charleston, and Scottsdale.

Does Cynthia plan national park trips?

Yes. Cynthia plans national park itineraries including Zion, Grand Canyon, and Big Bend. She handles lodging, permit timing, activity sequencing, and logistics for both first-time and repeat park visitors.

Do I need to know where I want to go before reaching out?

No. Many clients come to Cynthia with a general idea — a budget, a travel window, or a vibe — and she helps narrow down the destination. Whether you know you want Disney or you just know you need a vacation, the free quote form is the right place to start.

Can you plan trips for large groups or family reunions?

Yes. Cynthia plans group travel including multi-family Disney trips, cruise group blocks, and reunion getaways. Group travel comes with its own logistics — room categories, dining reservations, excursion coordination — and having an advisor manage those details saves significant time and prevents the common miscommunications that derail group trips.

Do you plan international trips?

Yes. In addition to domestic destinations, Cynthia plans international travel including Caribbean all-inclusives (Sandals resorts in Jamaica, Bahamas, Barbados, St. Lucia, and more), Mexico (Cancun, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos), Hawaii, and cruise itineraries throughout the Caribbean and Bahamas.

What happens if something goes wrong during my trip?

That's one of the most important reasons to use a travel advisor. If a resort has an issue, a cruise changes itinerary, or travel disruptions occur, Cynthia acts as your advocate — contacting suppliers directly, requesting remedies, and helping you navigate options. You're not calling a 1-800 number alone.

Booking & Policies

How do I pay for my trip once I'm ready to book?

Payment goes directly to the supplier — the resort, cruise line, or tour operator — not through Cynthia. You'll pay deposits and final balances on the standard schedule set by the supplier. Cynthia manages the booking on your behalf and keeps you informed of payment deadlines.

Do you help with travel insurance?

Yes. Cynthia can walk you through travel insurance options and help you determine what level of coverage makes sense for your trip. Travel insurance is especially important for international trips, cruises, and Disney vacations where deposits are non-refundable. She can include insurance quotes alongside your travel proposal.

Short-Term Rental Design

Do you charge for a short-term rental design consultation?

No. The initial design consultation is free. Cynthia reviews your property, target guest profile, and budget before recommending a design package.

What short-term rental design packages do you offer?

Four virtual packages are available: New Property Virtual Design with Links, New Property Virtual Design + Ordering, Property Refresh Virtual Design with Links, and Property Refresh + Ordering. The Vision package establishes space definition and feel; Craft adds detailed material and furniture curation; Execute covers full implementation from sourcing through ordering management.

Do you design short-term rentals remotely?

Yes. All design packages are offered entirely virtually. Cynthia works with Airbnb and Vrbo hosts across the United States without requiring an in-person visit.

Will a professionally designed STR earn more on Airbnb or Vrbo?

Professionally designed short-term rentals consistently outperform undesigned properties on occupancy rate, nightly rate, and review scores. Guests notice spaces that feel intentional — they photograph better, they get shared on social media, and they generate the kind of reviews that drive future bookings. Cynthia's design approach is built specifically around the guest experience and how a space performs on listing platforms.

How long does a design package take to complete?

Timeline depends on the package and scope. A Vision package typically takes one to two weeks. Craft and Execute packages, which involve detailed sourcing, ordering coordination, and full implementation plans, take two to four weeks depending on property size and complexity. Cynthia will give you a specific timeline during the free consultation.

Do I need to buy everything on the design list, or can I keep what I already have?

You can absolutely keep existing pieces that work. During the consultation, Cynthia assesses what you have and builds the design plan around what stays, what gets repositioned, and what needs to be replaced or added. The goal is a cohesive result, not a full replacement.

Can you work with a tight budget?

Yes. Budget is one of the first things discussed in the free consultation. Cynthia designs within real constraints — she knows which pieces deliver the most visual impact per dollar and where to invest versus where to save. A well-designed $5,000 refresh can outperform a $20,000 unfocused renovation on listing platforms.

About Cynthia Stays Curated

Are you an independent travel advisor or part of a larger agency?

Cynthia is an independent travel advisor. She runs Cynthia Stays Curated as her own business, which means you work directly with her — not a call center, not a rotating team. Every proposal, booking, and client communication comes from Cynthia personally.

What makes Cynthia Stays Curated different from booking directly or using a big travel site?

Booking sites show you what's available. Cynthia tells you what's worth it. She brings supplier relationships, destination expertise, and a personal investment in your trip that no algorithm can replicate. There is no fee for her travel planning, so the question isn't why use an advisor, it's why wouldn't you.
